What buyers say about The Gown: A Novel of the Royal Wedding
The Gown is a beautiful woven story of dedication, friendship and survival told through the eyes of three compelling women., Author Jeni Robson's writing is seamless and her descriptions made me feel as if I was sitting next to Ann and Miriam.
I'm not going to give much away, but it's a story about two embroiderers who worked on the wedding gown of Queen Elizabeth I. I cared about the characters and their journeys, and got a sense of what life was like for them.
Miriam and Ann were part of the team that made Elizabeth II's wedding dress.
One of my friends picked this book because she liked the author and her method of writing, but the ending wasn't really nice, but it was entertaining and I liked the way it flashed between today and the time period of the Royal Wedding.
A photo of her grandmother standing next to a celebrated London artist is one of the treasures she found. How did the yarn shop owner come to own these treasures and what is her connection to the artist?
