  • What buyers say about Rites of Spring: The Great War and the Birth of the Modern Age

I bought the book because I liked Paul Fussell's The Great War and Modern Memory and was told I might like it.

This book shows how romantic, anti-rational impulses lead to fascists in the world wars.

It is a great book but I had to reference other material to fully comprehend the culture and it is my opinion that prior background reading and study into the period is needed to fully comprehend the themes and arguments.
