Common Questions
Will the Z-axis stop switch need to be adjusted since the glass is thicker than the mag sheet?
It definitely will, but start by cranking down the bed springs all the way. Make your adjustments from there and then back off the springs as little as possible.
Is it necessary to change the bed level when you switch from pla to abs or does the glass not expand as much between the changes in temperature?
I don't think it's necessary to adjust the bed level because the material of the hot bed is borosilicate glass, which has a very low thermal expansion coefficient, about one-third that of ordinary glass, and its shape deviation is very small.
Is it possible to remove the plastic sheet over the top of the textured glass surface?
The surface with coating is covered with a plastic film. Remove this plastic film before use.
The top part that has the coating on it worked amazingly for 15 prints, but then it stopped sticking completely everywhere. Any solution?
I have found that giving the bed a quick wipe with 70% isopropyl alcohol solution will clean the bed, dry quickly, and leave the bed slightly tacky, but still allow prints to lift off easily.
What is the difference between this and the boro plate that came with my Ender 3 V2?
far as I can tell, it is the same.
