What buyers say about Panasonic BK-3HCCA4BA eneloop pro AA High Capacity Ni-MH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries
The following is an updated version of my original Sanyo eneloop FAQ, first published in may 2012
The eneloop Pros and standard eneloop2100 use fourth Gen technology, which gives them a wide operating temp range, improved stability in output, slower self-discharge, and increased durability.
I bought a La Crosse BC-500 to use in a car with solar cells, as it is the only La Crosse that can be used this way, with a 12 v plug included.
The eneloop Pro battery is a descendant of the long-standing tradition of NiMH batteries that run circles around most of the competition.
This battery is very good for low drain and high drain applications. It has a cycle life of over two years, which is four times that of the XX or Pro.
Common Questions
Is there a difference between SANYO's eneloop XX and Panasonic's eneloop pro?
The only real change to the batteries is the number of charge cycles, the batteries are rated for up to 500, and the milliamp is 2550 versus 2500.
This seems to be one of the highest capacity AA batteries out there. Are there any other NiMh AA's that have higher capacities?
PowerGenix had a NiZn AA battery, but it still wasn't as good as the eneloop Pro / XX line.
How long does it take to fully charge the batteries with the eastshine s2 charger?
It depends on the average voltage for the battery within a single discharge and how long it will take.To go from 1.10 volts to 1.28 volts is close to a full charge, but it will take less than an hour.
Is it possible to use my Energizer® Recharge® Value Charger with these batteries?
The energizer charger will charge your batteries too high a rate and reduce the life and number of cycles of your batteries.
If Ni-MH batteries are left in something without being used, are they hurt?
You can charge them at any time, and there are some smart charger/analyzers out there that can drain your cells for you or better yet check the performance of your cells.
