What buyers say about A Confederacy of Dunces John Kennedy Toole
It is a great read for someone who is a little Cal or just needs to be careful about getting a little too raunchy, but still wants to have a good time in New Orleans at that time.
The novel improved in the second half and held my attention more successfully.
For many, it evokes very strong opinions, and for the most part, what brings out this love is the author being onto something.
It's a shame the writer passed away so young, I think he could have written a lot of spin offs on any of the characters.
The author had trouble getting the book published and had trouble editing it down, which is why it is so repetitive. As someone who has written his own works, I can see the appeal of not wanting to cut out things you took a lot of care in writing.
