The good and bad are that the spring action is strong and the locking nut is secure, and that the black coating is holding up well with light use.
The product was exactly what I was looking for, it was heavy and sturdy, and looked good, I am giving it a 4 stars because the screw-lock is a little loose, and it screws all the way through.
I got these hooks so that we could have a lot of keys for specific things, and I like the bright color of the ones on the clips, and the lock that keeps the hook shut so they don't come loose.
I liked these carabiners, they were light and easy to use, and they were bright enough to spot when fishing out of the pack.
I'd be happy to use these with a 50 lbs equipment load, they are easy to remove when not needed, and the straps stay attached when in use.

I don't know if a 1/4 fabric eyelet would slide onto this carabiner. I can't find a diameter measurement.

Is it possible to leave the locking mechanism open so it just pinches open and closed?
You don't have to lock it, but it may twist down a little bit. I have been able to easily open and close it without the mechanism being a hinderance.
