I have not tested with heavy weight but on initial quality they seem excellent. The gate locks spin smoothly and stop turning once they reach the end, cheap ones just turn and turn.
I haven't used them yet, but met expectations and they will serve their purpose just fine, even though they are looking good.
The old clasp on my son's corded dog lease broke, so I cut the old one off, and used the 3inch locking carabiner clip to do the job, as it works very well.
I use it for weight lifting.
