This is a hard shell case and it's a perfect fit for my son's TransAcoustic Concert guitar, because it provides a superior level of protection without adding a lot of weight.
It's everything I wanted and more, and I was disappointed that it was brown, but I bought it anyway because I really needed one for Saturday 15th.
I was surprised at how light the unit was, but I would keep it for home use if I were able to fit my "classical guitar" in it.
The key and lock are a bit weak and not very easy to use, but it is worth it for the money and classic guitars are already light.
The second case by Gator for instruments is light in weight and protects the instruments better than the wood hard-shell cases, and they are comparable in price.
