This time however I was purchasing an acoustic electric guitar and wanted a set of strings that would work for both applications, and after doing a little research, I found that the strings that were available were the perfect fit for both applications.
They have a coating that makes them last a little bit longer than my other strings, but I am one of those people that has acidic oils, so I have no choice but to play with these.
They sounded good for a couple hours after each change, but became dull and flat after that. I didn't think it was a big deal to change those strings every couple weeks after only playing once a week.
I decided to try out the Elixirs after I heard they sounded great and had a more balanced tone across the range.
The light gauge is comfortable to use and the sound is great, so far, they've lasted longer than I would have expected.
