What buyers say about Martin Retro Acoustic Guitar Strings - .011-.052 Custom Light (MM11)
The guitar has a beautiful sound with ringing highs and bassy lows, but it is almost too bright and too much sustain.
The Martin Retro acoustic custom light 11 strings are what I needed to make my electric-acoustic lap steel guitar sound amazing, and it uses a very thin, hot-wound custom-made humbucker pickup.
It's balanced and doesn't have a big bass sound, but if you're into bluegrass flat picking or heavy strumming, you might want to stick with a heavier gauge.
I feel like I'm learning a new guitar every time I listen, I used medium strings for the longest time, lights seemed too quiet to me, but I figure I'll try some custom lights of these Monel.
The retros feel a little more like electric strings, as I can bend up 2 to 21 steps with the shorter scale of the Martin, it's too "slinky".
