  • What buyers say about Fleischmann's Instant Dry Yeast

Fleischmanns yeast has been used in my baking for most of these years, and I used to bake with live cakes of yeast found in the refrigerated section at the grocery store, but I didn't get the cakes used before they molded in our small town.

I don't know if it's health or taste wise, but I like to use cake yeast or sourdough when I make starter, and I'm sure you can find instructions on how to make starter on the net.

I did not do this in the early years of baking and ruined several recipes, but I still do it today.

I mix it with my flour and other dry stuff, then use hot tap water to make a great yeast that will rise and bake wonderful breads in a few hours.

This is the best way to buy the YEAST because we buy it in 50# bags from HONEYVILLE.

    Common Questions

Is it kosher in the package?

The packaging of the Fleischmann's product that we sell does not show any kosher markings or that it has been assessed for kosher usage.

    Is this yeast fast acting?

The label says "Instant Dry" and there is no "proofing" or conditioning required, although it does state that you can add instant dry yeast directly to the dry.

What is the age of this yeast?

It takes about 2 years and 2-3 months after its open.

The first picture shows a pack of instant yeast, but the product description says dry yeast. Can someone tell?

There are 2 main types of yeast, dry and wet.

What is the difference between this product and Saf instant dry yeast?

I can't offer a comparison because I haven't used instant dry, but I have been most pleased with the baking results and the shelf life of the Fleischmann's product for a long time.
