I think it could be used in bread baking to boost the yeasty flavor or in sauces for added complexity, but I'm not sure how that would work out.
I followed the instructions I was given on the internet and spread a thin layer of Marmite on my toast, but it's not really bad because it's very salty, but I could see the potential in cooking.
If you are an expatriate like me, you have to accept that it is a bit of a luxury now, but they are pretty awesome overall.
I love spreading marmite, it has a rich, sour flavor, but it is heavenly with butter on toast.
