What buyers say about A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier
I had to write a book to explain why Beah and other child soldiers experience what they did in A Long Way Gone, because the book was so good.
I think someone would enjoy reading this book, it is about a child soldier in Sierra Leone, and it is well written.
The story has brought a lot of outlook on life to my mind, it is believable that some children go through horrible times in their early years but they are able to continue their lives and have some semblance to their day to day routines.
If you want to learn more about the history of slavery and colonialism in Africa, then you should pick up a copy of my book The Real Wakandas of Africa.
I have some good knowledge of the issue going in, but reading a first hand account is still moving and I think this could be used in high school or university.
