What buyers say about Giles Milton White Gold, The Story of Giles Milton
This is my third book by the great scholar, authoritative, readable and populist, and it is up to his high standards. He has discovered a corker of a story here - Europeans were routinely sold as slaves to North African Muslim potentates.
The journal of a teen Irish slave who was rescued over twenty years later is the latest work by Milton, who is a master at knocking on the doors of William Manchester and Paul Johnson.
I will get some of his other books, it is a very interesting story and will be gripping in places.
It is disgusting to think that it has been hidden, but it is worth the read.
I have never heard of that period of time, but the story is very well written and easy to read.
