What buyers say about Stay with Me: A novel ; Ayobami Adebayo
Akin's character was so captivating that I had to stop reading at the end of my day. This decision opens up a can of worms that will come to light as the story progresses, and shows how much sacrifice a couple will go through to have a child.
I bought Stay With Me because I wanted to do an assignment on African Literature and I was drawn to it because of the description of marriage and starting a family.
At one point, Yejide thought that the reasons why we do things wouldn't always be the ones that others remember, and that his marriage had been built around a lie.
The decision to get pregnant in Yejide's own hands opens up a can of worms that will come to light as the story progresses, and shows how much sacrifice a couple will go through to have a child.
The twist and turns in the storyline made it hard for me to put the book down, but I liked that the challenges and difficulties of the characters were easy to empathise with.
