What buyers say about Waiting for the Barbarians: A Novel
This is a very good novel, better than Foe, and the main character is a relatively benign subjugator who is also the object of intense oppression.
It's a great style and easy to follow, and it's very important today as it was a long time ago in South Africa.
The novel is a master work of craft and Coetzee is clearly in command of his writing.
