  • What buyers say about And the Band Played on: Politics, People, And the AIDS Epidemic

This book is a must-read for everyone because of its depiction of human nature. Pandemics can still occur, and humans can still struggle to face their realities.

It doesn't have much hard science, but it does make up for it with a deep understanding of human concern and focuses on four of the most well-known cities: San Francisco, New York City, Washington, and Paris.

The book sheds light on the times and how prejudice can stop finding a cure for diseases like AIDS, I highly recommend it.

It's a great read, but it's sad that Randy is no longer with us.

I didn't know how social norm and politics affected disease research and funding until I read Covid-19.
