The rubber air hose I used for years was light and flexible, and made working more enjoyable, but the cost made it hard to spend the money, so I stuck with the inexpensive, heavy plastic.
The hose is lightweight and durable, and I found it great when I needed a hose for my compressor.
It's difficult to use in the winter in Central Ohio, but so far it's working well.
I stayed with the cheap, plastic, 3/8" hoses because I couldn't afford the expensive ones, but I was happy to find this Estwing hose, it has all of the benefits I was looking for.
I use this for my compressor and air tools at home. I live in Central Ohio and it has to stay flexible in the winter to use it.

Can you use this hose to power a framing nail gun?
If your compressor keeps up with demand, you should know more about it. Compressor should have 120 or 135 psi usually for a framer but make sure about that from the manufacturer of the gun.
Is there enough rubber in the hose to keep it flexible in the cold weather?
I use this hose outdoors with a pneumatic nail gun in all kinds of working weather, without a problem.
Does the male end fitting have to be replaced to allow another adapter to airing tires?
You can put whatever you want on the ends, it comes with quick connect fitting already so you can get a quick connect fitting for your tire adapter and use it the way it comes, or screw it onto an end.
Is the hose inside or outside of the 1/4 inch measurement?
The male connection can fit in the female connection of the hose.
What is the size of the hose?
It looks like 1/4" to me with the fitting on the hose.
