I have had this machine in my son's room for his allergies for the past 12 years and it is still going strong, but I have been having a hard time finding replacement filters.
I've never changed the filters on theHolmes but I'm pretty sure they're working. I gave it a 4 stars because some of the glue at the end of the filter spilled over to the next pleat.
I ordered them from the Subscribe and Save but will change my mind because they look thin now and I'm ready to go back to the cheaper ones I rejected.
I have been using the hepa's from Amazon for over 20 years, and they are not cheap, but the real deal.
This product does exactly as advertised.

It's easy to trim if need be, the actual measurements are 9 1/8" x 5 7/8".
Is it possible to wash the filters?
If you don't have a vacuum cleaner, you could gently wash the carbon filters and hang them for a while until the water goes away.
How long do these last and what is the exact measurement?
They should last 6 months if you don't smoke. If you do, they should last less than 6 months.
The size of the filter is about 13 1/2 by 15 1/2 inches. Do you know if it is available for the front of the 8650b model?
