We are very happy that we chose this one because it is easy to clean the first two filters and it is also very economical to replace the filters.
I ordered another for the other end of the room after we were so impressed with the first one.
We were a bit skeptical to try these filters since they aren't from the original manufacturer, however after using them for a few weeks we're very pleased with the purchase, they are just as good as the originals at quite a bit less in costs.
The fit is perfect and the carbon filter is better than it was before. A red light appeared after the unit was installed, suggesting that the flow wasn't as high as expected.
The risk and reward of ordering a non- Winix filter was so great that I had to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the filters, but the packaging as well.

I use these in my Winix 5500-2 and I just replaced the carbon Filter and the Hepa filter, which I used for a year with the 1st set that came with my air purifier, and we still have alot of carbon pieces left in it.
What is the rating of this product?
The manufacturer instructions say to press the reset button for 5 seconds after replacing the filter.
Is the hepa filter washable?
The HEPA filter can't be washed.
Does this fit both 5500 and 5500-2?
I can tell you that the 5500 is suppose to use the filter A - 115115, which is a Hepa filter with 4 carbon replacement.
Is it better to put a prefilter in front of the carbon mesh filter?
Yes. All the time, you should put the mesh filter and the carbon filter in front of the mesh filter.
