I changed the way I put the ingredients in the machine, and also changed the recipe, as I didn't like the results I got from the instructions.
I have never made bread before, but I did make it, and it was a success. I used a random website recipe, and didn't have enough of the flour that it called for, so I added some almond flour, tapioca flour, and a little bit of arrowroot.
The machine is easy to use, the instructions are easy to follow, and the recipe book will get me started quickly.
The Pohl-Schmitt machine has a "do-it-yourself" setting that is better than any other machine that has a pre-programmed setting, because you can program it to mix, rest and rise only once or multiple times.
My experience with bread machines is 20 years old, and I think that this is the eighth or ninth machine I have bought, because I think it's an experience that my friends also enjoy, and I bet on the good name of the Swiss manufacturers for high quality.

It's got rounded sides so hard to measure, but it's approximately 10 and 1/2 inches high, with a small compartment at the top that adds another inch or so.
