The water is as hot as a microwave but more evenly heated. I use it for making Vietnamese style coffee and for making tea, because the same teas have more layers of flavor that I never appreciated or noticed before.
This is an amazing product, you will find yourself using it a lot, and it boiled water in a few minutes.
The color is true to pictures and adds style to the counter, but I changed the power cord to a white one to hide the extra length of cord in the base.
The other one burned a family member so we bought this one that is easy to use and doesn't have hot plastic in it.
It is a wonderful addition to our coffee and tea bar, it heats water in just a few minutes and makes the space look bigger.
