What buyers say about Onkyo SKS-HT540 7.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System
They do a nice job of reproducing dialogue in movies and male voices as well, a weakness for many smaller satellite packages with small drivers.
The price I found at our local Wal-mart was the lowest I had ever found it, and the DVD player was chosen for its solid reviews and Bravia-sync capability with Sony flatpanel monitors.
You should make sure that the wattage output per channel falls in the upper third of the input rating for these speakers, as my opinion of these Onkyos is that they are a fantastic buy at under $250/shipped.
I had to check the size before buying these speakers, because Fry's had them on display, but I didn't think they were that big.
I had to pay more attention to the sub-woofer since I didn't want my wife to hear too much bass and I didn't want the living room to be dominated by too much bass.
Is there an option to make all the speakers covered?
I just received my set and all of the speakers have built in grills.
Can you tell me what is the impedance of the speakers?
They aren't very sensitive at 86db/W/m, meaning you'll have to drive them with lots of wattage, double that of a well build 89db/W/m speaker.
Is it a single voltage or dual voltage?
It's made in the U.S. and is only 120 volts.
What is the watt for this system?
The max power for each speaker is 130 watt at 8 ohms.
Can someone measure the actual height and width without a base? My dad has a theater in his basement that has precut holes.
The Front Speakers are 40 3/4" tall and 4 1/2" wide. Rear and surrounds are 9 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" wide.
