I needed it to print consistently and reliably, and I was not expecting to do a lot of photos or graphics with the Brother.
I was up and printing in about 15 minutes, it was easy to set the mode to send the scanned images straight to your email, it was much easier than any other scanning process I have seen.
The good news is that you don't have to change the print ink cartridges after four months of use with a full set of cartridges included in the box.
The setup was easy, and I wanted the email to be one file, rather than the previous practice of splitting it into separate attachments.
I have been using Brother printers for a long time, and I think the last 5 years have been really good for them. I only use all-in-one printers because I run a small home business.

Will the feeder feed and Scan 5 pages at a time, if I want to email a 5 page document?
I did a 16 page document today and it was very fast, maybe 10 seconds a page at the most.
Does it print if one color runs out?
I didn't research this issue before buying, and the printer wouldn't print in black if a single color ran out.
Does this include color and black ink cartridges?
The cost for replacements is better than HP and other printer companies, you can purchase individual colors if you tend to run a particular color down.
Will it print on paper?
Not only does it handle relatively thick paper in it's standard tray, but It may be the only Brother multi function inkjet that still has a bypass tray to allow it to handle extra thick without bending it.
Does this printer work with Windows 10?
It was easy to set up, and Windows 10 found the right driver and downloaded it right away.
