Setting up was easy, I just plugged it in, and then I was prompted to sign into my account, it took less than 30 minutes, despite the fact that I didn't hang around to wait.
The consistency in most reviews regarding the interface/setup and configuration, as well as overall performance, plus a 2yr warranty/support, the quick in stock availability via Amazon, and the addl cost and addl lead time of separate modem and router combo, are all positives.

You can't personally update the firmware, apparently, the cable company gets it from Motorola and updates it for you, I guess for compatibility or something.

Will it work with XFi and xpods?
The Xpods only work with the modem/router.
