What buyers say about Motorola MG7700 24x8 Cable Modem Plus AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router
Setting up was easy, I just plugged it in, and then I was prompted to sign into my account, it took less than 30 minutes, despite the fact that I didn't hang around to wait.
The consistency in most reviews regarding the interface/setup and configuration, as well as overall performance, plus a 2yr warranty/support, the quick in stock availability via Amazon, and the addl cost and addl lead time of separate modem and router combo, are all positives.
I replaced my modem with a satellite unit about a year after I got the Orbi mesh routers, so I decided to buy a new one that could replace both my modem and the Orbi.
The internet speed is perfect, and it was easy to setup, but the app feature for the Moto doesn't work.
One of the rare times I have been able to enjoy a telecom component purchase and install in lieu of buyers remorse or haunting 2, I purchased a telecom component and installed it in the furthest corner from the router.
Common Questions
Should you have to pay for extended phone tech support in the event it stops working?
It's a good modem that saves me money every year on my service with Comcast, as I had it 12 years ago.
What is the range of this modem? I'm looking for a strong signal throughout a 4,000 sq ft home.
It comes with a dual-band.The 2.4 GHz band is used by more than just wi-fi.
I had a combo modem+router that was locked out of firmware updates because it was a cable modem. Are you able to install them?
You can't personally update the firmware, apparently, the cable company gets it from Motorola and updates it for you, I guess for compatibility or something.
I am looking for a dual wi-fi modem that won't have connection problems, is this the one I should buy?
I bought this modem on Amazon and have not had any problems with it.
Will it work with XFi and xpods?
The Xpods only work with the modem/router.
