I had to upgrade my phone to the Gen 3 because it is only compatible with the iPhone 6s and above, but I didn't think about it at the time.
I bought a rubber band and protective shell to keep it out of my skin, but it made me sweat and irritate it, so I was worried about scratches or even not even pairing to my phone.
It looks great, it's easy to use, there's lots of fun to use, and it has a 2 day battery life.
There are pre-made responses to texts that you can tap, just be careful you don't hit one that would be an inappropriate response, and I have found it useful to have the notifications on my wrist all the time.
The watch is always charged for a full day of activity even if you use it in nightstand mode at night. I have never had a need to track sleep and this is not an issue if you use the watch in nightstand mode at night.
