I have not used it much but it is heat resistant and I am not concerned about my granite countertops because it is a pouch.
It had a sleeve for carrying and it was great because you could put it in the sleeve if you needed to leave a hotel.
I like the fact that I can just put my flat iron in the pouch and go, since it keeps me from laying my hot iron on surfaces that are prone to burn.
It does its job of keeping my curling iron, flat iron and straightened comb on the mat without touching the counter.
This item is designed for a very affordable price and is delivered by means of a sealed box.
