Since it hasn't had any bad weather yet, I can't say if it will do well or not. I have a good feeling about what will stay dry and what won't.
I didn't think it would hold so much, but it did and I never shifted on the ride up mountains and high winds.
The adults and baby were on their way to Iowa from California and had a lot of stuff in the life saver including a duffle bag, stuffed full backpacks, sleeping bags pillows and jackets, a twin air mattress and a queen.
The size is impressive, but it was folded well and expanded so that it could be a great carrier of gear, though I would expect it would be more difficult if you have rails on top of your vehicle.
The storage bag is cheap and doesn't match the quality of the roof bag it contains. If you want to keep it in the bag, pay attention to how it unfolds, because it will fit back in the bag.
