I bought it to go to Colorado from Texas and it didn't put much weight on it but I had to buy a hitch extension for the basket as I ran 37s on my Jeep and it wouldn't fit.
The missing piece was trivial, and I called it a good thing because one of the split washers that fit on a reflector was not there.
We used heavy duty ratchet straps to keep things safe as we traveled 13 hours from Florida to Massachusetts, the reason I gave it 4 stars on assembly was that there wasn't any instructions on how to use the straps with the cargo bag.
We got a hitch tightener for our 2012 Journey and that made it a lot more secure, we hauled a cooler and a big full storage bin on it, no problems at all.
I got this because my family of 4 plus dog could road trip more easily in our city car, and it worked perfectly, as I read some reviews that I was worried about the car exhaust damaging our items.
