  • What buyers say about Earthwise 1715-16EW 16-Inch 7-Blade Push Reel Lawn Mower

I paid $87 for the Earthwise 7-blade mower, which is half the price, but it is superior to the Fiskars. I took about 10 minutes to attach the handles and set the height for my yard.

I thought this would be much quieter than my battery powered lawn mower, and it is, but the high noise the blades make when cutting is annoying.

My house has a small yard and I thought I would give reel mowers a try.

I had to attach the handles and set the height for my yard, but I was out and mowing by the time I got home, and the reel turned faster for the same walking pace as the Fiskars reel.

If you want to go low on your Bermuda, you need to use more blades, and it's better to cut it with a better blade than with a powered reel mower.

    Common Questions

    Q:

Will this model be able to cut when pulled backward?

    A:

No, only when pushed from behind, it will cut. If you flop the handle over, you can push from the front without engaging the reel.

    Q:

Is it good for mowing golf greens?

    A:

We have had great feedback from people using these in Southern California, where grass is very thick with no issues, and it is great for mowing golf greens.

    Q:

I don't know if I need the e-rings for the handle bars.

    A:

The tension from the spring of the bars should hold it together, so you won't have a problem.

    Q:

The minor is between 1/2 and 1/2 and the precise is 1/2, 1 1/3 and 2 and 1/2.

    A:

The reel can be adjusted to your desired 2 inches by moving the roller to the desired cutting height.

    Q:

Does it come with it's sharpened out of the box?

    A:

I bought mine in August of last year and it was sharp when I used it. All I have done to it so far is lubricate it occasionally.
